Here and There

Want an example of why I appreciate the news I get here in Britain, versus the news I was getting back in the States, via CNN and Fox? Click here, and then try to imagine George W. Bush, the President who would be king, in that seat across from Jeremy Paxman. Just try to imagine, that's all it will take for humor to turn to sadness to turn to rage to turn to shame to turn to bewilderment to turn to worry. Where can one find an actual, functioning democracy at the moment (I had to emphasize that last part?)? Look no further than a wee, rainy island, from which many a white person stepped ashore in America three hundred years or so ago.
