The most turgid logician, the most reasonable theologian, the most empirical biologists, even they, should they be in love, cannot explain the ineffable course of their relationships. The mystery of love -- it's a truism, right? Ah not so, says Professor John Gottman, of the University of Washington. The key to understanding one's relationship: differential equations.
